concert bands

 Denmark High School has one of the most comprehensive band programs in the state of Georgia.  Our students have the opportunity to perform in three concert bands, percussion ensemble classes, marching band, jazz band, indoor percussion, winter guard, and various chamber ensembles.  

 

 

 

WIND ENSEMBLE 

(Indicated on Infinite Campus as, "Mastery Band")

 

The Wind Ensemble is the highest auditioned ensemble at Denmark High School.  Auditions are conducted the previous spring and are open to all 9-12 band students with experience on their instrument and in good standing in the Denmark Band Program.  Students are expected to maintain a high standard of excellence in preparation, daily rehearsals, and performance.  The performance schedule will include 3-4 concerts each semester and will involve after school rehearsals.  Attendance is always required and is part of the students’ grade.

 

Admission to the Denmark Wind Ensemble is by audition and director selection only. Members of this ensemble are highly encouraged to audition for GMEA All-State Band and take private lessons. The Wind Ensemble class is an accelerated level ensemble that satisfies state and national standards.

 

 

 

SYMPHONIC BAND 

(Indicated on Infinite Campus as, "Advanced Band")

 

The Symphonic Band is the second auditioned ensemble at Denmark High School.  Auditions are conducted the previous spring and are open to all 9-12 band students with experience on their instrument and in good standing in the Cambridge Bands or current middle school band program.  Students are expected to maintain a high standard of excellence in preparation, daily rehearsals, and performance.  The performance schedule will include at least 2 concerts each semester and will involve Dane Time/after school rehearsals.  Attendance is always required and is part of the students’ grade.

 

Members of this ensemble are highly encouraged to audition for GMEA All-State Band and take private lessons. The Symphonic Band class is an advanced ensemble that satisfies state and national standards.

 

 

 

CONCERT BAND 

(Indicated on Infinite Campus as, "Intermediate Band")

 

The Denmark Concert Band is the intermediate band at Denmark High School.

 

This ensemble focuses on development of core individual fundamentals as well as developing ensemble skills.
